TAXI DRIVER AND TOUR GUIDE
My name is Danny, born in Kent but raised in South London and I first discovered, and fell in love with Edinburgh when visiting the city on a sales call for a major distributor of musical instruments around the year 2001.
I grew up playing the drums in various bands and was lucky enough to get a sales job selling major guitar and percussion brands after failing to make it big as a rockstar drummer!
I spent 10 years on the road as a sales guy and
Edinburgh was always my favourite stop!
My wife, who is from Hungary, and I decided to move here in 2002 when she was witness to a couple of upsetting crimes in London while working as a children's nanny and as much as we also love London we started looking for somewhere smaller and more chilled out to live and thought we would try Edinburgh for a year and 23 years later we are still here and love the city even more with each passing year!
Scotland is such an amazing country with so much history and stunningly beautiful scenery and she really does get into your heart!
I started doing tours because customers in the taxi would ask me about the city and I soon realised that I really wanted them to 'get' Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland and also fall in love with it like we have!
The Scottish people are so amazing and I even discovered I have some Scottish blood after taking a DNA test a few years ago...only 3% but it feels like much more!
I have been driving a cab for around 20 years and also doubling as tour guide and driver for the last three years and so really know the city of Edinburg well and my favourite job is showing tourists how amazing the city is on our tours!
